How I use AI without letting AI replace engineering judgment

AI is useful, but it is not a senior engineer. It can speed up research, first drafts, repetitive tasks and documentation, but production responsibility still belongs to a human.

Where I use AI

  • Drafting documentation and client summaries.
  • Exploring possible approaches before choosing one.
  • Summarizing logs, audit notes and long checklists.
  • Generating first-pass content structures for review.
  • Building guided workflows that reduce manual admin work.

Where I do not blindly trust AI

  • Security decisions.
  • Database changes.
  • Production deployments.
  • Architecture choices.
  • Client-specific business logic.

My rule: AI can assist the workflow, but engineering judgment, QA and accountability stay human.
